Last night at the 82nd Academy Awards, the glass ceiling for women Directors was finally broken. Congratulations to Kathryn Bigelow for winning the Best Director of 2009 Award for Best Director for The Hurt Locker. Ms. Bigelow efforts and hard work paid off. Although I have not seen The Hurt Locker and the movie has garnered mixed reviews from U.S. Servicemen and women currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, I tip my hat to Ms. Bigelow for taking on a sensitive project.
The 82nd Academy Awards was a historical night, and it proved Girl Power prevailed!
